SGLN UPDATE JUNE 1, 2023 |
FROM THE CHAIR Believe it or not, we’re approaching the end of the financial year. If you’re looking for a tax-friendly way to invest in your local environment, please consider donating to the South Gippsland Landcare Public Fund. 100% of each donation (less any third party bank or collection fees) will be used to fund environmental projects in South Gippsland. This year, the SGL Fund is giving more than $13000 to establish 3.5ha of koala habitat and to capture the carbon emissions of 23 vehicles. Just over $11000 has been allocated to three sites near Foster, one of which will form part of the Franklin River koala corridor, while Arawata Landcare Group will receive $2166 to extend the Ruby Creek Koala Corridor. Thank you to the Australian Plant Society of South Gippsland and our other individual donors! Remember that the Fund can also receive donations on behalf of a Landcare Group. This enables donors to receive a tax -deduction for their donation which would not be available if they donated directly to the group. You can donate via our Go Fund Me page (a fee applies) or via direct debit (no fees apply). Contact Belinda Brennan for more information: belinda@brennanfacilitation.com.au. P: 0409 004 901.We recently had our Presidents’ Pizza Night. It was great to see so many of our local groups represented and hear their stories, successes and challenges. It gave our Landcare Facilitators great information on where they can focus their efforts going forward and help those groups that need it most. Regards, Jillian Staton |
