Funded By: Community Volunteer Action Grants
Project Timeline: 2021-2022
This exciting volunteering project will be running for 12 months from November 2021 in the Bunurong Coast area, from Venus Bay to Walkerville.
The project has allowed us to purchased 20 camera traps for volunteers to monitor wildlife and pest animals in bushland areas. This information will be shared with land managers to help them look after our local environment, along with contributing to our knowledge of biodiversity trends.
Volunteers will help place cameras in the bush and retrieve them and can also help from home by looking through images and identifying the animals recorded. They’ll also have the chance to meet and connect with other like-minded people.
As a starting point we held an online information session about the project on 24 November 2021.
