We have decided to combine our Fire Wise Shelterbelt and Garden workshops into a single event at Loch. The Meeniyan garden event will not be going ahead.
Local ecologist Kate Bennets (Fire, Flood & Flora) will discuss how certain indigenous plant species can use used in shelterbelts to help reduce fire risk on farms. Afterwards we’ll visit the Fire Wise shelterbelt demonstration site that has recently been planted at Loch.
Mitch Emmett (CFA vegetation management officer) and Hayley King (CFA engagement coordinator) will share information and resources on ember attack and landscaping for bushfire.
Afterwards we’ll visit the Fire Wise shelterbelt & garden demonstration sites that have recently been planted at Loch.
